Alert Logic Earns 'Approved Scanning Vendor' Status from PCI Security Standards Council

Alert Logic, a provider of on-demand Security-as-a-Service, announced an expansion of its Payment Card Industry (PCI (News - Alert)) Data Security Standard (DSS) compliance offerings.

The company also received recertification by the PCI Security Standards Council as an Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV). Alert Logic met stringent conditions of the ASV Program Guidelines for attaining the PCI ASV certification.

As per those guidelines, organizations accepting credit card data need to ensure that they are undertaking quarterly vulnerability scans to help ensure credit card data is safe. Recertification by the PCI Security Standards Council ensures the vulnerability scans performed by Alert Logic rigorously validate that customers are not vulnerable to attacks on their systems.

“These new capabilities complement Alert Logic's offerings in native intrusion detection, vulnerability assessment and log management,” said Dave Colesante, senior vice president of Product Development and CTO, Alert Logic, in a statement.

“Alert Logic's service provider partners and enterprise customers depend on us to help them achieve and maintain PCI DSS compliance, so this recertification is important validation of our standards and processes,” Colesante added.

Alert Logic's unified compliance reporting and monitoring solution plays an important role in helping organizations address PCI DSS compliance. The company’s Threat Manager provides vulnerability assessment by scanning customer networks internally, externally and in the cloud, identifying and prioritizing vulnerabilities.

RecentlyStratITsphere, a provider of data center services and IT infrastructure and security advising, announced that its new data center will house some of Alert Logic’s mission critical systems. StratITsphere's new data center, located west of Houston, boasts a Tier IV design and is designed to resist the worst human and nature threats.
