Bacula Systems Launches Bacula Enterprise Edition Trial Version and Business Partner Program

Bacula Systems, a provider of commercial open source backup and restore software, has launched its new Business Partner Program and the trial version of Bacula Enterprise Edition software.

The new partner program is expected to assist its partners to grab growing market opportunities for its subscription-based solution. It enables partners to offer backup, restore and disaster recovery solutions cost effectively.

Bacula Systems is defining a new market opportunity for our global Business Partners that will enable them to increase their skills and expand their business in support of data centers that need to modernize their backup solutions, while driving down costs,” said Aristide Caraccio, vice president of Sales and Marketing Worldwide, Bacula Systems, in a statement.

Other benefits to business partners include volume incentive discounts, advanced technical support, and sales and marketing tools. The new partner program is also complimented by a new channel-neutral compensation policy on sales for its direct-sales force.

Bacula System has signed on more than 20 partners around the world.

“Commeo is pleased to be a Bacula Systems distributor,” said Philippe Adoux, director of Commeo, a marketer of software solutions from software vendors and service companies in France. “Our customers will benefit from easy, accessible testing of Bacula Enterprise Edition. This partnership also ensures quality backup solutions are available today for our customers' data center needs.”

Bacula Systems also announced its trial version of Bacula Enterprise Edition, which is designed for safe, responsible deployment in a professional environment. The solution, built around open standards, is highly configurable for high availability in a clustered environment. It backs up to disk, tape, and robotic media libraries and has advanced levels of security built in every layer. It is easy to set up and highly scalable.

Recently, Bacula Systems announced it completed over $5 million fund-raising. The funding has been raised from a syndicate assembled by KM Capital Partners and from the Swiss Canton of Vaud, through its Economic Development arm, DEV.

Bacula Systems plans to utilize the funds to accelerate the company's software development program, and grow its sales and channels services to provide more sophisticated support to its business partners, company officials said.
