Bitdefender Debuts Total Security 2012 to Protect Computers

Bitdefender a provider of innovative Internet security solutions announced the release of Total Security 2012 which offers “sleek and silent” defense from threats, viruses, and identity theft attacks from hackers without slowing PC performance.

In a release Bogdan Dumitru, Bitdefender CTO said, “We’ve given the home user product range a striking overhaul, offering sleek, silent defense from today’s e-threats. The new interface is very easy to use, and the addition of the optional Autopilot feature will meet the demands of those users looking for a hassle-free security experience.”

Bitdefender Total Security 2012 is being launched alongside other products from the company namely Bitdefender Internet Security 2012 and Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2012.

To provide proactive protection, Bitdefender Total Security 2012 uses an overhauled user interface that is designed to meet the demands of computer users who need protection to work 24/7 without interrupting their work and enjoyment.

The new features included are social networking protection, an Autopilot mode and scan dispatcher to maintain system performance, said officials.

Dumitru added, “Bitdefender’s technology has been leading the way across independent testing and consumer organization recommendations for some time now, and we’re certain Total Security 2012 will help to further our reputation as the strongest choice for digital defense.”

The Autopilot mode enables intelligent, optimal security-related decisions even without input from the user. This is non-obtrusive as there are no pop-ups or alerts, and nothing to configure after setup. But users will be able to easily access the dashboard for making their own in-depth decisions.

The improved features in Bitdefender Total Security 2012 includes Safebox - Online Backup and File Synchronization which monitors important files and instantly backs them up to a secure remote server whenever a change is detected. Bitdefender Total Security 2012 includes 2GB of free storage. The Rescue Mode allows the computer to re-boot in Rescue Mode in case of e-threats, like rootkits which cannot be removed from within the Windows operating system.

Company sources added that the new Virtualized Browser launches the browser in a Bitdefender-provided environment, isolating it from the operating system for preventing browser-based e-threats from gaining control of the entire system. Besides these, there are the improved flexible interface and availability of a streamlined installation process.
