Uniserve Communications Corp., a Germany-based pure-play supplier of data quality solutions in Europe, announced the sale of its Eastern assets, a step expected to help the company clear its debt and focus more on serving its existing customer base optimally.
In a release Michael Schmidt, Uniserve CEO, said, “This strategic move allows Uniserve to develop and build our business to business market and focus on our Cloud Computing launch. With this transaction, Uniserve has paved the way to build our Dell (News
- Alert)/Joyent Cloud Computing Solution for the business to business market in Canada.”
Joyent is a global cloud computing software and service provider that offers an integrated technology suite suitable for service providers, enterprises, and developers. Joyent licenses its cloud software to service providers that include Dell, FirstServer Softbank (News - Alert), XYBASE and Uniserve.
JoyentCloud.com delivers public cloud services to companies like LinkedIn (News - Alert), Gilt Groupe and Kabam. Its offerings also include Platform-as-a-Service based on Node.js, the open source server-side JavaScript development environment that is used by enterprises and telcos such as Microsoft (News
- Alert) and HP.
Schmidt added, “The demand for Cloud-based business services in Canada is overwhelming. The Canadian government has now adopted an official Cloud Computing Strategy and the US government already budgeting $1 Billion exclusively to Cloud Computing.”
The Cloud Computing market is expected to grow by 50 percent in 2012 alone. To leverage this growth Uniserve plans to build its Data Centre at the new corporate head office on Terminal Avenue in Vancouver.
“Uniserve is excited to be one of the first Canadian companies to enter the North American Cloud Computing market estimated to be worth over $100 billion by 2015,” stated Schmidt.
Uniserve Communications specializes in the integration and delivery of voice and data services over multiple IP networks directly. It also serves its clientele through wholesale partnerships with businesses and retail consumers across Canada, said officials.
