BAE Systems Wins $65 million IDIQ Contract from U.S. Special Operations Command

U.S. Special Operations Command has awarded BAE Systems (News - Alert), with $65 million Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract, for IT services and technical support for special operations forces.

BAE Systems is a global defense and security company with approximately 100,000 employees worldwide. It delivers enhanced IT and secure solutions that enable national security and critical infrastructure customers to perform operations and protect their data and networks.

As per the contract, the company will work with USSOCOM's IT management office in areas including applications maintenance and development, planning and engineering as well as management and information assurance.

BAE Systems will oversee the transition of application management services from the incumbent service provider. It will also provide ongoing support throughout the life of the SITEC agreement.

“U.S. special operations forces deployed throughout the globe require effective, reliable and secure information to protect our interests against enemy networks,” said Paul Falkler, vice president and general manager of the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Solutions business for BAE Systems, in a press release.

“Our enhanced IT solutions will enable USSOCOM to enhance and maintain software applications to support their mission.”

USSOCOM, with the help of BAE Systems will be able to achieve an increase in mission operations support and control, establish transparency and accountability; foster effectiveness, innovation and communication; drive cost optimization and enable net centricity.

Capabilities of BAE Systems include mission IT solutions, advanced analytics, cyber analysis and real-time network forensics.

In related news, Embraer and the Brazilian Air Force have selected BAE Systems to provide flight control electronics for the KC-390 military transport aircraft.
