Tips to raise your child's digital IQ

Nowadays, children grow with great dependency, and there aren’t many parents can do about it. The reason is that parents want their children to be the best and make the most of technology to achieve their goals and live their dreams. So, children are learning to use a tablet and smartphone, even before they develop speech.

However, some parents do nothing to help develop their child’s digital IQ. There can be some reasons for the same.

1.    They have a low digital IQ

This is quite possible if you do not use technology for your day-to-day activities. However, this should not be a reason to restrict your child’s digital IQ development.

2.    You do not want to expose your child to the world of technology

While this makes sense to a certain extent, one should know that blocking their digital IQ in totality is not a solution. Tech has some advantages, and one should know about the same. Learn about it and give your child an option to make the most of the positive side of technology.

With this, here are some tips that will help you raise your child’s digital IQ.

1.    Get them a user-friendly tech toy

There are many out there and choosing one of them should not be a problem for you. Have a look at the list of tech toys available in the market and buy one that can be used by your child.

When investing in tech toys for the first time, make sure that you do not buy an expensive toy.

2.    Let them help you with some basic tasks on your PC

Let’s assume that you’ve recently got back home from a trip to Jordan and you’re organizing your photos on the PC. Let your child sit with you as you shortlist the best pictures and move them to a folder titled Jordan tours. Let them be with you from the start till the end of the procedure.

3.    Talk to your child about cyber safety

If your child has limited knowledge about technology and websites, you can talk to them about the safety issues and why they should avoid sharing their personal information with others online. Safety is very important, and you cannot skip this topic when talking to your child about technology.

With safety, you should also know that you have the option to opt for Parental Control. Make the most of it, and you’ll be happy with the time your child spends on the PC, laptop, smartphone, or tablet
