Datameer 6: Dealing with Big Data the Easy Way

The biggest hurdle data presents is complexity, digging through data can quickly become a frustrating and overwhelming process. As analytics and business intelligence deployments grow in number it is vital to ensure the tools are user-friendly, streamlined and intuitive – something so easy a caveman could use would be a nice change of pace. This week, Datameer took a step in this direction with the release of its next generation data analytics workflow tool, Datameer 6.

"The immediate feedback loop that Datameer 6 will provide our business users with will make their data discovery process so much easier and faster," said Mathew Hawkins, global data integration and infrastructure manager at Surdome. "Now, they aren't required to go through a pre-defined analytics workflow and will have more time finding insights that matter to the business."

The solutions puts smart data discovery to work, allowing users the ease of point and click functionality, and providing a more streamlined process. The next generation solution reworks the archaic linear steps of integration, preparation, analytics and visualization one simplified action. The need for specialized tools and skill sets is alleviated.

Datameer 6 marks the introduction of Spark to its Smart Execution technology, a key component to the simplicity of the user experience. Smart Execution promises the fastest processing time possible, as it selects the optimum processing network for each job.

"With the added focus on the speed of response associated with interactive data discovery, the addition of the Spark processing engine to Smart Execution demonstrates Datameer's ability to incorporate the benefits of new processing frameworks without impacting the data discovery process," noted John L. Myers, senior analyst of Business Intelligence at Enterprise Management Associates.

This future-forward solution is optimizes data mining and machine learning behind the curtain so that you can worry about the business at hand, business – not configuration. It provides the necessary level of flexibility for a firm’s big data architecture to ensure years of actionable insight and return on investment.

According to Gartner (News - Alert), “modern BI and analytics platforms have reached a tipping point,” with next phase in this nascent arena’s ascent being easy to use, agile and quickly provide businesses with value. I think it’s safe to say Datameer 6 hit that nail on the head. Its revamped user experience coupled with a future forward back end translates to the next generation in BI and analytics.

It’s difficult to proclaim that even a caveman can do it, but that doesn’t mean that Mike in the office next door can’t.
