VerifyMe's Developer Portal Gets a Version 2.0 Release

For communications developers, identity theft, fraud and counterfeiting can be three of the biggest problems on a list that never seems to stop growing. VerifyMe has its finger squarely on that particular pulse, as it's recently released the VerifyMe Developer Portal version 2.0, a system that will readily provide access to VerifyMe's application programming interfaces (APIs).

One of the biggest new factors to VerifyMe Developer Portal 2.0 is its substantial boost to security. No longer depending on password/personal identification number (PIN) logins or even two-factor authentication, VerifyMe's system instead turns to several attributes, ranging from geo-location to biometrics to even knowledge and possession factors. With the various API at VerifyMe's command, a communication developer can deliver ready integration of a multi-factor authentication tool that likely surpasses many currently in use.

VerifyMe's CEO, Paul Donfried, offered up further comment, noting that the Developer Portal's new version made it “simple and easy” to leverage its current stock of representational state transfer (REST) APIs, and allowed users ready access to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Level Four Identity Assurance. Better yet, this level of security can achieved in what Donfried called “typically in a few hours,” so it clears the path for developers to bring out services and content alike without much need to be concerned about the security involved.

Several security tools go into the creation of VerifyMe's systems, so it's not just a readily accessible tool, but also a powerful one. It's built around a risk scoring engine that's not only scalable to meet needs on the ground, but also has its own patents. That helps prevent risk that comes with selecting technologies, and also helps make it easier to build VerifyMe tools into both Web-based and mobile applications, giving it a versatility that should make it particularly prized.

Couple all these points together—powerful security that can be readily accessed and put into play, and scaled upward as needed—and the VerifyMe Developer Portal 2.0 makes a very strong case for itself. It would be a competitive prospect to have any one of these points, but putting all three together under the same umbrella makes for a powerhouse operation. The question is just how long VerifyMe can keep this platform at the top of the game before competitors see what's going on and ratchet up offerings accordingly to match VerifyMe's clearly strong selling points. Still, there's always something to be said for first-mover advantage, and the inertia that tends to follow after a choice has been made and systems installed.

Those looking for strong security that can get in place quickly should be looking seriously at VerifyMe's system, one that should prove a winner on enough fronts at once to make it a candidate to work with.
