IntelliChief Improves Enterprise Content Management

Digital technology has rendered paper redundant. The amount of resources it takes to use paper is costly in terms of human and financial capital. In that vein, IntelliChief, a provider of enterprise-class automated document management and workflow solutions, just announced the advanced release of Enterprise Capture, its front-end document capture program that is part of the company's enterprise content management (ECM) platform.

While paper or hard copy still has its place, in today's highly collaborative environment the data and resources employees need must be accessible digitally from anywhere on any device. The solution by IntelliChief understands both of these points, and its Enterprise Capture platform has simplified the process of capturing documents, whether it is digital or on paper, and making it more available.

The Association of Information and Image Management (AIIM) has reported electronic, as well as paper documents continue to flow into businesses at increasing volumes. And for large enterprises with multiple locations, capturing, transforming and distributing paper documents can be a costly process.

According to IntelliChief, the program is able to extract and classify key pieces of data for business processes automatically to accelerate document processing. This eliminates the labor intensive process of preparing documents for manual data entry.

The Enterprise Capture technology has an imaging software that is able to transform scanned and fax documents into electronic images that can be retrieved easily and distributed electronically to increase productivity levels.  The enterprise functionality has multi-channel capture capabilities so every department within an organization across many different industries can automate their validation with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and line of business systems (LOB) for accurate and consistent updating of data.

Paper and process-intensive departments such as accounting, finance, customer service, human resources, legal and logistics/distribution operations, will be able to implement Paperless Process Management (PPM (News - Alert)) to eliminate paper, lower costs and improve overall business processes.  Organizations can create a centralized and distributed capture environments with configurable actions and rule based criteria.

The program is able to recognize multiple languages, document classification, validation and business rules as well as formatting for specific processes of an organization. Additionally, a browser can be used for remote scanning, distribution and verification over the Internet to input documents from anywhere. This means documents don't have to be shipped to a specific location so they can be scanned.

Paper will still have its place for the foreseeable future, but increasingly it is showing its limitations. Until the moment arrives when it will no longer be used, solutions such as IntelliChief's Enterprise Capture will help organizations make paper documents more accessible for the digital environment.
