Damballa and Interface Form Partnership to Increase Network Security

The growing demand of cloud computing, as well as smart mobile devices, streaming services, the IoT and always being connected have increased the amount of traffic on existing networks. In addition to the content, enterprises, telecoms and network operators also have to face the very real security threat that is currently plaguing the digital landscape. In order to provide greater network security, Damballa and Interface Masters (News - Alert) have formed a partnership to create a comprehensive solution designed to protect 1G and 10G network links.

If network links don’t have robust security protocols in place, the network can be compromised. This can result in sensitive data falling in the wrong hands or services interrupted. For large enterprises that depend on 100 percent availability, any disruption to their digital assets can result in the loss of millions of dollars, and the theft of their customer’s data could prove even more costly.

Damballa, a provider of network security monitoring for advanced threats, and Interface Masters, a company that specializes in network visibility and uptime solutions, have come together to secure coverage across 1G and 10G network links by monitoring several functions to ensure higher degree of safety and availability.

The combined resources of both companies will be able to detect a wide range of complex threats in real time with a comprehensive visibility of the network by performing deep packet inspection, netflow and traffic monitoring, content inspection, endpoint analysis and behavioral classification.

This solution is available in a plug-and-play platform designed for easy access to the UI so administrators can receive notifications and reporting to ensure network uptime at all times. They are using the Network TAP ports of Interface Masters’ hybrid Network Packet Broker (NPB), Niagara 2804 and Damballa Failsafe.

The Damballa Threat Discovery Center (TDC) monitors around 15 percent of the world’s unfiltered and unbiased Internet activity as well as more than 1/2 billion devices and the network communications of more than 100,000 malware samples. This experience has given the company and its Failsafe solution the ability to detect threats by automatically and accurately identifying hidden infections in real time on live traffic.

The Damballa Failsafe technology gives organizations concrete data so they will stop wasting resources and time chasing false positives. It is able to accomplish this by first confirming infected devices with advanced persistent threats or malware, it then terminates criminal communications and presents a full case of evidence prioritized by risk. Response teams can take immediate action based on the workflow Failsafe presents.

The Damballa Failsafe product line and Interface Masters 1G and/or 10G Network active TAP/Bypass Switch and PacketBroker System are available and in full production.
