Mobile News Sites Do Not Meet Customer Expectations: Compuware

Majority of American mobile news sites do not meet consumers' expectations, according to a survey by Compuware (News - Alert) Corporation that announced the launch of a new mobile site performance index in the media industry.

Ninety four percent of the mobile news Web sites measured by Compuware Corporation, a technology performance company, provide load time speeds that do not meet consumers' expectations of five seconds or less.

Mobile news Web sites are not meeting mobile consumer's expectations as majority of Web consumers are experiencing slow or unreliable mobile Web site and application performance.

Mobile users expect quick transactions that work flawlessly every time. The U.S. Media News mobile site performance index measures response time, availability and consistency of mobile-optimized versions of select U.S. news media Web sites.

“One of the most convenient uses for Web-enabled mobile devices is having instant access to breaking news from all over the world,” said Jonathan Ranger, Gomez Benchmarks Practice director at Compuware, in a statement. “If users seeking information in real time experience a slow or malfunctioning mobile Web site, they will go to competitor sites.”

“Expectations for mobile service performance are high, with consumers expecting the mobile Internet to perform on par with the desktop Internet,” Ranger added. “These sites need to deliver fast and successful mobile experiences or risk not only driving away site visitors but potential advertising partners.”

The U.S. Media News mobile site performance benchmark allows organizations to compare and track mobile Web site performance against competitors and market leaders. Using the benchmark report, they can compete effectively and meet consumers' expectations for fast and reliable Web and mobile site experiences.

Recently, Compuware Corporation announced the acquisition of privately held dynaTrace software. The acquisition is line with its vision to meet the growing business demand for IT agility, rapid delivery of high-performance of modern application and cloud-based services.
