To allow guests network access while ensuring data and information safety for small businesses and home offices, ZyXEL Communications (News - Alert) Inc., a provider of secure broadband networking, Internet connectivity and routing products, has launched of its VFG Series of firewall / VPN gateways.
According to a press release, network separation offers an easy way to allow guests network access, while ensuring data and information is not unintentionally compromised. The compact VFG6005 and VFG6005N offer this crucial separation, delivering the power, protection and rich features of ZyXEL's award-winning USG firewalls, including remote and Internet access, at an affordable price.

"As a result, consumer products don't cut it for them, yet enterprise systems are out of their budget. The VFG series provides strong router features as well, with the wireless version offering 300Mbps speed. In addition, both versions have a built-in 4-port gigabit Ethernet switch for ample connectivity. The series also offers 3G auto failover for uninterrupted broadband access - a novel feature for firewall gateways in this class. The 3G access is supported via a USB port. Finally, the series offers solid reliability with 60,000 NAT sessions, and UPnP Support for cloud applications.
Built-in support for IPSec and PPTP VPN offers organizations greater flexibility to use either enterprise-grade IPSec VPN client software or free Windows' built-in VPN client. ZyXEL's VPNC certification also guarantees compatibility with existing VPN equipment, offering customers further peace of mind.
