Integra Deploys Splunk Security Solutions

Integra, a company providing the western U.S. with a wide range of networking, communications and technology solutions, recently announced that it has expanded its security operations center (SOC) by implementing Splunk (News - Alert) Enterprise and Splunk Enterprise Security (ES). Splunk’s Operational Intelligence platform powers both solutions and will enable Integra to vastly improve the security of its network and services while benefitting from the ability to streamline and enhance internal operations.

“For many of [our customers], security is the primary reason why they choose to work with Integra,” commented Steve Fisher, Vice President of Network Planning & Security at Integra. “They want their data and communications services delivered on a network that has a level of security that goes beyond what other providers and the public Internet can provide.”

As their core functionality, Splunk Enterprise and Splunk ES analyze the machine data that streams from each piece of the security puzzle, including networks, servers, endpoints, etc. Where most security setups would struggle to take a comprehensive and inclusive approach that ensures overall protection, Splunk’s software can easily detect, respond to, and in many cases prevent internal and external attacks. With more effective protection from threats and faster response times when action is necessary, Integra customers will be able to minimize downtime and rest assured their data and networks will be as safe as current technology allows.

In addition, security teams will be able to use Splunk Enterprise and Splunk ES to more efficiently monitor, visualize and analyze data from all critical IT systems. Thus these solutions are well-suited not only for enhancing security, but also for improving the efficiency of networks through more in-depth visibility. Integra’s SOC will be able to detect and deal with situations such as compromised accounts or systems, malware infections, and most forms of malicious activity including that which is usually overlooked by other security solutions.

“Splunk solutions can help telecommunications companies like Integra accelerate service delivery and provisioning, improve the customer experience, strengthen their security posture and reduce fraud,” said Shay Mowlem (News - Alert), Vice President of Product Management at Splunk. “We are excited to be helping Integra protect the business and increase revenues.”
