Connectivity and telecom management provider MASS Communications has announced that it is deepening its relationship with ICR, acting as its network operations center (NOC (News - Alert)).
“The goal of our solution was to provide ICR with a more robust, resilient IT environment that is cost-effective,” says David L. Schwed, General Counsel and CIO MASS Communications. “Our multi-carrier solution enables ICR’s IT team to focus on other projects since we provide one invoice and one point-of-contact for all the elements of the solution.”
The New York City-based ICR provides strategic communications services to businesses and has expanded from 100 employees to 160 over the past three years as well as moving to a new office in the city.
ICR wanted an environment that could better support the new mobile workforce with an IT staff of just four people.
“Mobility is important given that our client managers are often on the road meeting with clients – maintaining an email environment that is dependably on for people inside or outside the office is a top priority for us,” ICR IT director AJ Fitzgerald said.
MASS Communications consolidated the company’s services from five locations across the U.S. processing invoices from three different carries into one bill. At the same time, the company upgraded ICR’s bandwidth.
Even though MASS consolidated ICR’s services and reduced IT expenditures, what really impressed Fitzgerald was the company’s approach to reliability.
“If there is an outage of one of our circuits, they are contacting us before we have to contact them. They are truly an extension of my department. In my 20 years in IT dealing with carriers, MASS Comm is by far the best network operation center (NOC) I've ever dealt with. They keep the lines of communication going so I don’t have to worry about whether the network is running smoothly,” he said.
