Data Virtualization Provides a Common Fabric to Enable Agility and Deep Business Insights

Collecting and analyzing big data and gleaning it for actionable insights is a standard practice in most businesses these days. The amount of data being collected is increasing at a breakneck pace, however, and that requires a new set of capabilities and skills to gain even deeper insights and additional value.

When examining the overall data architecture of any organization, agility is absolutely essential to ensure all layers are mined in a logical and useful way. Data virtualization can go a long way toward achieving this, bringing together information from disparate tools into an agile and flexible common fabric.

“Everybody everywhere says, ‘Turn data into business insights’,” said Suresh Chandrasekaran, senior VP, North America at Denodo (News - Alert) Technologies, Inc. “That hasn’t changed in decades. What is changing is the amount of data coming in, requiring even deeper insights. It requires a new culture that treats data as an asset on the balance sheet.”

The importance of business agility in mining data insights, and how data virtualization can help in achieving it, will be the topic of a fourth and final webinar in a comprehensive series hosted by Denodo. The series has been focused on agility and flexibility as part of data management and analytics, with a focus on understanding the entire customer experience ecosystem as well as how contextual marketing plays an important role in the business lifecycle.

Business Agility Must Be Based on a New Flexible and Agile Data Approach” is the topic of the final free webinar, which will take place this Thursday, September 24, at 11 a.m. PT. The session will feature Holger Kisker, vice president and research director at Forrester (News - Alert) Research. He will examine the importance of agility in any data management architecture, as well as the role of data virtualization in unifying disparate data layers and analytics tools to glean better and more comprehensive business insights.

“You want an intelligent architecture between these layers, across these layers, from source to management to processing to delivery, to provide abstraction and hide complexity and deliver information faster,” said Chandrasekaran. Data virtualization offers that framework, aggregating data from best of breed tools into a common fabric that can ultimately provide invaluable insights into all aspects of business.
