Accenture Tops Gartner Report as IT Services Provider

Communication service providers (CSPs) are companies that assist communications vendors with all manner of product fulfillment and customer interaction. Behind them are the IT services providers that support those goals with hardware and software for processing of digital data such as that for analytics and communications.

One company that recently emerged as a Gartner (News - Alert) Magic Quadrant Leader is Accenture for its operation as an IT services provider. The recent Gartner report, “Magic Quadrant for IT Services for Communications Service Providers, Worldwide,” lists Accenture (News - Alert) as one of the highest-ranking IT vendors in this role. It has emerged as a leader for its handling of these complex tasks, those on which Gene Reznik, the group technology officer at Accenture, comments in his company's announcement of the honor.

“CSPs are evolving from traditional service providers into integrated digital service providers, with digital at the heart of everything they do,” Reznik said. “Making this transformation is an extremely complex task, and providers are looking to collaborate with partners who have the industry expertise, digital orientation, depth in technology, and ecosystem relationships to help them build their next-generation services, networks, and operations.”

Clearly, both Accenture and Gartner believe Renzik's company is able to provide for companies' needs in this way. Accenture has worked hard this year to add features to its products and secure its future by acquiring other companies in its market. First off, it added the SmartVideo (News - Alert) feature to its Life Insurance Platform that will give life insurance and annuity businesses the power to create customer-focused videos based on consumer data.

In addition, it acquired the Washington D.C.-based cyber security company FusionX. This should help Accenture remain relevant as a security vendor which provides its clients with the tools they need to spot security vulnerabilities in their networks.

This all leads back to CSPs which can benefit from such support in dealing with customers and protecting their assets. Any edge businesses can get when providing a positive customer experience can set them apart from the pack. Furthermore, any insight they can gather about their networks will help them protect sensitive company and consumer data. In this digital world, threats lie all around, so the need for protection is paramount. With clients in more than 120 countries, that is a lot of assistance for Accenture to provide.
