ADQ Enlists Netsurion to Beef Up Security

Fast food chain American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ) is strengthening its internal security and working hard to ensure customer data stays protected, an important move as cybercrime continues to grow into a pressing issue for businesses and organizations across all industries. The company has selected Netsurion, a provider of cloud-managed IT security services and solutions, to deploy its managed network security solution in order to benefit from enterprise-class security at a fraction of the cost of a comparable self-managed solution.

Netsurion’s platform allows the flexibility necessary to manage Dairy Queen’s particular connectivity requirements while maintaining a formidable firewall that protects against most security threats, especially malware-based data theft. Netsurion notably provides outbound traffic restrictions as part of its base configuration to ensure top-notch inbound and outbound data security, and cutting-edge firewall circumvention detection technology that actively monitors traffic patterns to prevent unauthorized access to customers’ card data. Furthermore, proactive network monitoring and an inventory of connected devices prevents unauthorized devices from gaining physical access to the network and causing trouble.

“Netsurion's focus on the security of each individual customer drove our choice to select them as a solution,” said Chuck Eicher, Director of Restaurant Technology at ADQ. “The Netsurion managed firewall solution provides DQ locations with strong security postures and peace of mind that patron credit card data is protected. We are providing franchisees with a solution that we believe is the best security option on the market at this time. We trust the knowledge and experience that the Netsurion team provides and the attention paid to DQ's specific business needs.”

Netsurion will support the ADQ deployment of its managed network security services with uninterrupted, centralized remote management of firewall and wireless access points. The company’s security architecture is integrated with equipment from networking solutions provider Juniper Networks (News - Alert) to provide a comprehensive and robust set of security features without the need for reconfiguring the network’s IP address structure.

"Netsurion is very excited to be continuing our strong relationship with the Dairy Queen system," said Kevin Watson, CEO of Netsurion. "Our goal is to ensure that not only are the networks of DQlocations around the country secure, but that Dairy Queen customers' information is safeguarded, and the DQ brand is protected."
