TriCore & Tableau Get Together on Simplifying Data Analysis

Sometimes developments in business operations come along that have a lot of power, but are almost too much power for some businesses to effectively put to use. Some businesses might regard tools like big data analytics as like trying to weed a garden with a backhoe; too much power for the job at hand. TriCore Solutions and Tableau Software, meanwhile, are getting together to help make analytics tools more accessible to the enterprise user and, thus, more likely to be put to work.

TriCore's specialty, reports note, is its business analytics consulting services lineup, and by getting together with Tableau—who specializes in business analytics software—the combined force can help make it easier to get working with analytics. Tableau will be bringing its visual-based platform to help turn raw data into actionable insights, providing help in data discovery and exploration, as well as analytics and dashboarding. TriCore, meanwhile, offers up support in managing costs and improving service levels.

TriCore's vice president and general manager for business intelligence services, Chris Barbanti, offered up some comment around this combined effort, saying “Customer behavior is one of the most important parts of your data analytics and data platforms like Tableau Software allow companies to easily gain insights that were not possible before. By adding Tableau Software into the suite of business analytics that we support, we can better serve our customers and help them to analyze their data faster and easier.”

There has been somewhat of an effort lately to make big data more accessible to users; Microsoft (News - Alert), for example, recently introduced Cortana Analytics at its World Wide Partner Conference meeting with a plan to “democratize big data”. The combined TriCore / Tableau effort, meanwhile, looks like it might well do something similar, and provide a means for users to get better in on big data analytics, complete with outside help as its needed.

It would be easy for a lot of users to look at big data and regarded as something “other” companies do, something that “bigger” companies do, but even small businesses can benefit from the kind of help big data systems can offer. After all, big data can help spot trends in the making; help businesses react to changing conditions by better showing how those conditions are changing. It doesn't help matters to solve the wrong problem, or solve something that wasn't really a problem to begin with. It wastes time, effort, and resources, and the problem that's actually doing the damage is still a problem.

While big data may seem daunting, especially to a company that is not all that big, there's a move on to make big data more accessible and better available for more users. That's going to help the companies that offer big data access, and it's also going to help those who can benefit from big data access. Benefit all around is hard to pass up, and TriCore / Tableau's move should go a long way toward giving more businesses better access to this new and powerful tool.
