Software Upgrades Released for Rajant's Kinetic Mesh Software

Firmware upgrades to Kinetic Mesh management and monitoring software have been announced by Rajant Corporation. The company has announced version 10.24 of BC|Commander, a management and monitoring application for BreadCrumb-based kinetic mesh networks. Rajant Corporation is a provider of pervasive, multi-frequency wireless solutions.

Added support for new BreadCrumb models has been included in the upgrades. A mix of licensed and unlicensed radio frequencies has been utilized for the same. The upgrades also include improved support for voice and tracking applications on MSHA-certified BreadCrumb model UX2400. All BreadCrumbs have also been provided additional diagnostic and configuration capabilities through the upgrades.

“As the features and capabilities of BreadCrumb networking nodes increase, so must the functionality of BC|Commander. These upgrades ensure a high level of both device-level and overall network monitoring and management,” said Robert Schena, founder and CEO of Rajant Corporation, in a release.

BC|Commander is available for both Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows and Linux workstations. An easy-to-use graphical interface has been used by BC|Commander to provide a global view of the network. Each BreadCrumb in the network is provided a secure, encrypted link by BC|Commander. It also features point-and-click configuration along with real-time network topology view. BreadCrumb firmware can be remotely updated with BC|Commander. All other configurable BreadCrumb features can be also controlled. These include radio settings, mesh encryption/authentication, VLANs and InstaMesh settings.

Rajant has developed an advanced protocol, InstaMesh. Continuous and instantaneous routing of wireless and wired connections is allowed by InstaMesh. Apart from enabling complete network mobility, InstaMesh features robust fault tolerance, high throughput and low latency. InstaMesh also features zero maintenance and administration. InstaMesh is combined by the BreadCrumbs with support for standards in wireless access, security, network monitoring, QoS etc.

Secure communications-on-the-move is enabled by Rajant Corporation through a portable meshed wireless network. By rapidly reconfiguring, the portable meshed wireless network can adapt in real time. Networks for Military, Mining, Homeland Security, First Responders, Telecommunications Service Providers and Public Safety are provided by Rajant's BreadCrumb Wireless solutions. Voice and data communications across a meshed, self-healing network are also provided by the solutions. IP based client devices can also communicate with Rajant’s BreadCrumb network nodes.
