Nimbix Extends JARVICE to Support Hybrid Cloud Implementations

Cloud technology now provides virtually every component of information and communication technology (ICT) by allowing organizations access to enterprise grade applications, infrastructure, platforms, security and more at very affordable price points. This has introduced a level of flexibility and scalability that has resulted in exceptional growth for startups, SMBs and enterprises. The one concern that still continues to distress CIOs regarding cloud technology is security, but it is quickly being a non-issue as robust hybrid cloud solutions make it possible for enterprises to have a customer facing front-end while their existing data centers remain private.

Nimbix, provider of cloud-based high performance computing (HPC) infrastructure and applications, has announced the extension of JARVICE, a supercomputing architecture adapted for self-service and elasticity so it can start supporting hybrid cloud implementations. The new expansion gives customers that need HPC a way in which they can streamline their public/private workloads.

As enterprises continue to adopt cloud technology, they need a platform with the ability to meet many of the compliance issues with data security and location requirements. This architecture is purpose-built for high-performance computing applications, giving organizations more control over their platforms with a robust performance and ease-of-use.

JARVICE now extends on-demand big data and HPC applications to hybrid cloud deployments with options on where system components and applications will be running on dedicated equipment, as well as how much of the Nimbix public cloud they need to leverage for virtually unlimited scale.

Flexible scalability is key as organizations continue to aggregate massive amounts of data from different touch points, most of which are public and customer facing. They have to use this information by quickly analyzing it and deriving actionable insights to improve operations across the entire organization.  By merging the scale and seamless operation of the public cloud with the resource control and data location elasticity of private infrastructure, Nimbix is able to maintain the HPC applications and public/private infrastructure components up and running at all times.

Features highlighted in the new JARVICE include:

  • On premises infrastructure for data security and location compliance,
  • Upstream platform management, ensuring seamless operation/continuous integration of new applications and feature enhancements,
  • Seamless cloud bursting to Nimbix public cloud for additional compute capacity,
  • Big data and high-performance functionality, guaranteeing best performance/ease-of-use for compute-intensive use cases,
  • Platform-as-a-Service/Software-as-a-Service models, allowing developers and end users to operate from one self-service platform, and
  • 3D Visualization, driving end-to-end workflows while minimizing data transfer.

“JARVICE is the fastest, easiest way to run Big Data and HPC applications. The new hybrid cloud extensions give customers more control over infrastructure and topology to better address security and compliance, without sacrificing the supercomputing performance and point-and-click ease of the platform,” said Leo Reiter, Nimbix's Chief Technology Officer.

Enterprises are more confident than ever in adopting cloud technology, and with the new features JARVICE provides, they now have a platform that delivers more control with the ability to analyze big data with better computing agility through the entire hybrid environment, whether it is the data center or the public application services.

Currently, the JARVICE hybrid cloud extension is available in private beta.
