BTL Helps Pernod Ricard to Streamline Data Protection in EMEA

Pernod Ricard, the wines and spirits leader has streamlined its data protection in EMEA with the help of Backup Technology and Asigra.

As part of the pact, Backup Technology (BTL), part of cloud company iomart, implemented Asigra Cloud Backup, a software platform for online data backup to centralize Pernod Ricard‘s previously ad hoc approach to data protection.

By utilizing Asigra, Backup Technology has streamlined the backup process for thousands of companies around the globe. The solutions scalability allows Backup Technology to protect customer data sizes ranging from 250GB to 5PB+.

Thanks to the pact, BTL now protects in excess of 350 TB of data for Pernod Ricard EMEA.

Officials with BTL said that Pernod Ricard now has consistent Cloud Backup across EMEA. The Asigra software’s ability to run incremental forever backups means remote sites like

Kazakhstan and Morocco can backup data quickly to BTL’s secure data vaults in the U.K.

“I know that the critical systems and business data across the region are protected and there is a recovery solution which is tested each year. This allows me to focus on enhancing the sales and marketing systems which is where the key business opportunities lie,” said Simon Bennett, information systems director for Pernod Ricard EMEA, in a statement.

“Pernod Ricard’s goal of centralizing its backup and DR strategy across EMEA has been achieved, transforming it into a single highly effective backup solution with defined Recovery Time and Recovery Point objectives,” said Rob Mackle, sales & service director for BTL.

Headquartered in Leeds with offices/partnerships in the U.S., Europe and  Australia, BTL is a provider of cloud backup and disaster recovery solutions.

Last year in August, Backup Technology had announced the extension of their five year partnership with L.K. Bennett.

Headquartered in London, L.K. Bennett is a luxury fashion brand defined by its British heritage. After using a tape-based backup solution for years, the company realised a change was necessary when its backup environment began suffering from increasing backup windows and failed data recoveries.

The company sought to modernize its backup environment by transitioning to a cloud-based data recovery solution, which included the Asigra Cloud Backup Connector provided by Backup Technology Limited (BTL). As a result, L.K. Bennett has eliminated the inefficiencies of tape backup and recovery to improve overall business uptime.
