Radware Provides Protection from Bash Bug Shellshock Vulnerability

"Bash bug" (Shellshock) is the latest technology used by hackers on Linux operating systems. It allows hackers to gain control of computers running on Linux operating systems with simple commands. Bash is a program used to execute command line instructions and scripts.

Responding to this latest threat, Radware (News - Alert) has announced its Security Operation Center with the assistance of Radware's Emergency Response Team (ERT). According to the company, it has offered complete protection for its customers for the vulnerabilities found in Bash (CVE-2014-6271, CVE-2014-7169). Radware's Emergency Response Team (ERT) provides round the clock services for customers facing a denial-of-service (DoS) or a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack. This service is also available for customers who are facing a malware attack.

The ERT provides the much needed expert security advice and helps the affected parties in restoring network and service operational status. The professionals at ERT have high degree of knowledge in threat management and are vastly experienced with network threats, their detection and mitigation. The team at ERT uses the knowledge it gains from each customer case and uses the same to rapidly resolve the next customer issue. This involves immediate, proactive, hands-on participation by the ERT professionals.

“Radware has worked around the clock to help mitigate this current vulnerability in order to keep our customers fully protected," says Gabi Malka, chief operating officer, Radware. "As we see this vulnerability currently live in the wild, our Emergency Response Team will continue to monitor this situation and will release additional protection and support as needed.”

Various organizations have been selecting Radware’s advanced protection services to protect their companies. Recently, IDC (News - Alert) Frontier Inc. selected Radware's Attack Mitigation System, powered by DefensePro. The company was looking for a reliable security solution that could identify and stop emerging threats on the cloud.
