What is Your Application Integration Plan?

How would you rate your competitive stance in the market? Have you streamlined your business processes, increased operational efficiencies or created new innovative services? If the answer to any of these questions is in the affirmative, you’re likely also focused on application integration. The challenge today is application integration has to meet with far more demands than just a few short years ago.

For instance, business environments are changing, technologies are improving, cloud-based applications are increasingly in demand, enterprise mobility is becoming a must-have and information has to be nothing short of real-time. With so many demands, the integration solution and any partners secured in the process have to meet the needs of today and tomorrow.

The Next Web recently posted a piece on how best to future-proof you application integration platform. Borrowing from this list, let’s examine what they suggest should be your top-of-mind to put your company in its best competitive advantage.

In-memory data grid architecture – continuity short of 24x7 could put your business in jeopardy. At the same time, you need to be able to scale through cost-effective methods if you plan on growing your business. With in-memory data grid architecture, you have the availability and failover you need.

Support both in-house and cloud-based integration – like most businesses, you’re likely using a variety of combinations of in-house and cloud-based solutions. You want your integration solution to be optimized for all deployment methods.

Real-time information – most companies rely on business information to effectively compete. If that information is delayed, it may already be too late to be of value. If you’re already put in the in-memory data grid, you’re already on your way to accessing information in real-time.

Mobilize data – companies can no longer operate in a silo if they want to be competitive. Information and enterprise applications have to be accessible across multiple devices and operating systems. Keep the focus on mobile efficiency in application integration.

Security – while it should go without saying, security is the primary focus in a market where vulnerable networks are a target. Integration solutions mean connectivity to a wide variety of backend systems. The selected vendor should have strong relationships with the vendors of your key systems.

One company with a strong reputation in this space is Miracle Software Systems (News - Alert). To share the company’s latest news and what to expect in the future, Miracle Software Systems’ Ajay Jasti was on hand at the ITEXPO event.
