ITEXPO West 2014: Masergy Continues to Make Waves in 2014

While most of us are hoping to make waves at the beach during this last hot stretch of summer, Masergy, a global cloud and unified communications as a service (UCaaS) provider, is looking to make waves in 2014 as the powerhouse behind the world’s largest independent global cloud network platform. As ITEXPO (News - Alert) West 2014 kicks off today at the Rio in Las Vegas, VP of Cloud Communications Dean Manzoori sat down with TMCnet to discuss what Masergy has up its sleeves as we welcome the second half of the year.

But before divulging plans for the months ahead, Manzoori took some time to catch us up on advancements that were made earlier on this year.

Masergy kicked off the New Year by rolling out a brand new channel-focused cloud communications solution specifically aimed at the mid market (up to 500 users). The solution, launched in January, provides companies with enterprise-quality hosted UC—voice, video, messaging, conferencing, mobility—designed to meet the unique needs of mid-sized organizations.

Today, medium-sized enterprises continue to face a surge of challenges related to their size. Masergy is unique in that its core platform is embedded in the fabric of its global network, enabling it to have unparalleled visibility and control, Manzoori explained, enabling these companies to guarantee high quality with strong service level agreements (SLAs).

Furthermore, Masergy works one-on-one with its customers to ensure their ultimate satisfaction upon deployment. The company even provides a comprehensive proof of concept for customers with no cost and at no risk. If they want to, for instance, deploy a piece of hardware—a phone system, session border controller or switch—they can do so and gain a true understanding of what the entire process would be like from deployment to ongoing support.

Some of the challenges being seen in today’s mid market landscape include a lack of expertise, reliability and scalability, Manzoori adds. “It’s not enough to have the technology; you need a reliable and scalable solution to make it work and to see success.” He says.

And, nine times out of 10, telecommunications isn’t the core competency of the average medium sized company. Conversely, mid-sized business owners aren't experts at keeping the lights on—nor should they be. By leveraging the expertise and personalized touch of a partner like Masergy, they can begin focusing their valuable resources on more revenue generating business processes. In other words, a company like Masergy can take the brunt of the work off your shoulders so you can catch a breath and catch up on what you need to get your company ahead. This new mid market solution is attractive from a price, support and implementation perspective, Manzoori explains.

And it doesn’t stop there. Masergy also has plans to roll out a new service—UCaaS Analyst—for mid-sized enterprises to more proactively monitor systems, to gain complete visibility into caller performance, and to identify weak points in the network. The solution can reduce TCO and, because it comes at such an affordable price point, enables businesses to handle high priority tasks that they may not have had time to complete otherwise. UCaaS Analyst is due to deploy within the month. In the meantime, click here to learn more about Masergy.
