Basis Technology Announces Rosette Search Essentials for Solr

Basis Technology, a company that develops products and solutions incorporating multilingual text analytics and digital forensics, recently announced a new solution that comprises a complete Solr instance together with industry-leading text analytics. Rosette Search Essentials for Solr provides dependable language support, increasing accuracy across major languages.

Providing advanced text processing in forty languages, Rosette Search Essentials separates compound words into their appropriate sub components that can then be indexed independently. It determines the root form of words through dictionary definitions as opposed to stemming. Rosette Search Essentials is available as a free download for development use and is currently available for Solr or Elasticsearch.

"Search is the cornerstone of virtually every application. Whether you are two students in a dorm nurturing the next big idea or a professional engineer at a major company, language technology is essential," said Carl Hoffman (News - Alert), CEO of Basis Technology. "Good ideas are rarely confined to the English-speaking world. Developers can integrate the Rosette API once and enable other languages as needed."

The Rosette linguistics platform provides morphological analysis, entity extraction, name matching, name translation, and Arabic chat translation, yielding useful information from unstructured data in such fields as information retrieval, government intelligence, e-discovery, and financial compliance. The digital forensics team pioneers better, faster, and cheaper techniques to extract forensic evidence, keeping government and law enforcement ahead of the exponential growth of data storage volumes.

In related news, Basis Technology recently partnered with Search Technologies, an IT company dedicated to enterprise search and big data solutions. Basis Technology and Search Technologies have worked together with clients for a couple of years now, and this symbiotic relationship has now evolved into a more formalized relationship.

Two experts coming together to provide best-in-class solutions, Basis Technology's text analysis components plug into enterprise and open source search engines, bringing linguistic technology in 40 languages to perform language identification, morphological analysis and lemmatization, entity extraction, and name matching within or across languages.
