AlienVault Placed in Visionaries Quadrant by Gartner

Network security threats loom large on companies that share sensitive data on their networks. Over the years, the threats to network security have evolved to advanced levels and companies are discovering that their old defense mechanisms are useless against these advanced threats. But thankfully, new solutions on hand and they are getting the recognition by industry leaders.

Gartner has positioned AlienVault (News - Alert), a provider of Unified Security Management solutions and crowd-sourced threat intelligence in its Visionaries quadrant of the 2014 “Magic Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management”. AlienVault is the only company that has been positioned in the Visionaries quadrant.

Apart from the honor of being placed in the Visionaries quadrant, AlienVault has something else to celebrate. The company has also been included in the “Critical Capabilities for Security Information and Event Management” report by Gartner (News - Alert).

The products of the company are designed and priced in a way that helps midsized companies to successfully defend themselves against modern day attacks. The company mainly specializes in threat detection, which helps the customers to identify threats before they cause a lot of problem for the company.

“For the third year in a row, Gartner has positioned AlienVault in the Visionaries quadrant and this year we are the only vendor included, which we believe is great validation of our unique approach to addressing today’s advanced threats,” said Barmak Meftah, AlienVault president and CEO. “We are on a mission to simplify the way security professionals detect and mitigate threats by unifying the technology and crowd-sourced threat intelligence into an easy-to-use, complete and affordable solution for companies of all sizes, especially the underserved midmarket.”

Recently, the company updated its version of Open Threat Exchange (OTX). This new updated version includes OTX ThreatFinder, which helps network professionals to analyze the communications on their network and quickly pinpoint potential threats and take preventive actions.
