HOB Unveils Upgraded MacGate Software

HOB, one of the market players in secure remote access solutions, recently introduced the latest version of its HOB MacGate software.

Company officials said that HOB MacGate offers users with a flexible and highly secure remote access solution to Mac computers.

The latest version offers several new features without compromising security and enables secure remote access to Mac devices from various operating systems, including Windows, Linux or Mac OS X.

Currently, several of the existing remote access solutions for Mac are VNC solutions. They show often a slower performance than those which use the RDP protocol.

Based on the RDP protocol, HOB MacGate allows for a more productive workflow than VNC solutions. Especially in the area of compression, VNC solutions frequently result in imperfect or slow data transmission.

“VNC solutions only allow users to execute tasks in halves, resulting in significant drawbacks when it comes to remote access,” explains Klaus Brandstätter, CEO of HOB, in a press statement. “This might be adequate for remote maintenance, but for everyday business operations, an efficient working environment should be the top priority for managers and employees.”

Users, with the updated version of HOB MacGate, can now easily access their Mac computers via an RDP connection and benefit from the advantages the RDP protocol offers them, without worrying about the operating system the connection is established from.

The new HOB MacGate is centrally installed on the target Mac. It is adjusted to the current needs and preferences of users and adapted to ongoing market developments.

Explaining the reasons behind this update, Klaus Brandstätter said, “In order to remain competitive, companies need state-of-the art, highly innovative software solutions which optimally support business processes. We at HOB are continuously developing and updating our products to suit the needs of our customers.”
