Kaspersky Lab Updates its Internet Security Solutions with New Features

Consumers rely on the Internet to access websites for various uses such as travel booking, shopping, banking and interactions on social media. This exposes them to online threats which may lead to financial loss. It is also imperative to protect children from online harm. With online threats becoming more sophisticated, users require reliable security software to protect all types of devices.

In order to protect customer data, privacy and financial transactions, Kaspersky Lab (News - Alert) is updating and enhancing the components of its security solutions.

Kaspersky Lab has released a new product line of security solutions aimed at home users. The new Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2015, Kaspersky Internet Security 2015, and Kaspersky Internet Security – Multi-Device 2015 solutions, will protect users from new and existing cyber threats.

These solutions are compatible with Windows, Apple OS X and Android (News - Alert) based devices. The updated releases of Kaspersky Lab’s consumer software include technologies that prevent webcam surveillance of the user, protect users while using public Wi-Fi networks, and from encryption malware.

Webcam hacking, or intercepting images from a webcam, gives hackers the ability to spy online. They can view images such as documents containing bank details, credit cards, or other private activities. Kaspersky Lab has developed the Webcam Protection feature which will monitor which applications are connecting to the webcam, warning the user about any webcam access attempts, and block access.

The Wi-Fi security notification feature in the new edition of Kaspersky Internet Security protects users while using public wireless networks. This module verifies the security of Wi-Fi hotspots and provides alerts, besides providing tips and recommendations for configuring home Wi-Fi networks.

Cryptomalware or malware encrypts files and restores it only on paying some ransom. Even then the system may not be safe. Kaspersky Lab’s System Watcher module protects files by first analyzing all processes, and when it detects a program attempting to modify a user file, it makes a backup immediately. If malicious activity is confirmed on further analysis then the changes made to the files are rolled back.

In addition to these new features, Kaspersky Internet Security also delivers premium PC protection, which protects customers from all types of Internet threats. The antivirus and anti-phishing protection features and other tools and technologies help protect privacy, personal data, and online payments. Also, using the Parental Control module, parents can monitor their children’s online activity.
