Stein Mart selects tw telecom's IP VPN service

tw telecom (News - Alert) (TWTC), a provider of Business Ethernet and networking solutions, recently announced that the company will provide Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) service to Stein Mart, Inc., a national retailer, to directly connect and securely pass data to its more than 270 stores and data centers nationwide.

TWTC claims that its IP VPN solutions provide better performance and greater security than using the public Internet to pass data between your locations. With features including Multicast and Class of Service, tw telecom’s IP VPN is more cost effective than setting up private, dedicated connections between the locations. The business continuity can be maintained with tw telecom’s Assured Connect Broadband in the event of a primary IP VPN circuit failure.

"Stein Mart is an excellent company with a strong IT infrastructure and we look forward to partnering with them to deliver solutions that will directly connect them to their locations better, faster and easier than ever," said Kevin O'Neill, vice president and general manager, tw telecom Jacksonville.  "tw telecom is very excited to team with Presidio to bring a secure, scalable and predicable service experience to Stein Mart, which will provide a cost-effective foundation for network strength, resiliency and reach."

In related news, tw telecom recently announced that 1102 Grand has deployed tw telecom’s E-Access business Ethernet network. tw telecom’s Ethernet access (E-Access) solution will enable enterprises to provide their complete service portfolio to any national Ethernet-enabled location. 1102 Grand, is a leading, 26-story carrier facility based in Kansas. E-Access is the latest addition to tw telecom’s next generation Ethernet suite of solutions and includes an external network-to-network interface (ENNI). E-Access provides a single point of access for carrier, application, and data center service providers, and is the only service to have definitions for a point-to-point service over an ENNI.
