Wheelings & Dealings:IS Group Acquires WideXS

IS Group, the Dutch market leader in Cloud computing and IT services, has acquired Amsterdam based WideXS.

WideXS BV is a Cloud services provider and has approximately 8,500 business customers. Customers of WideXS include SMB's, resellers and systems integrators.

“With this acquisition, we further expand our leading position in the European market. Furthermore, WideXS's innovative Virtual Datacenter proposition perfectly complements our successful Cloud and IT services proposition for channel partners and systems integrators,” said Jan Willem des Tombe, CEO of IS Group, in a statement.

WideXS will relocate to the IS Group offices and will fully merge with IS Group's activities. The management board of IS Group remains unchanged in the hands of directors Jan Willem des Tombe and Arjan Steevels.

"We firmly believe that in our business scale of operations is crucial in staying ahead and continuing to lead this market in which technological developments mature rapidly. This allows us to support our customers optimally with the latest technology available,” said Jan Willem des Tombe.

He said that guaranteed continuity, security and quality of service are quintessential for the customers. For this reason, selective acquisitions that directly contribute to the company’s financial result make part of the company’s strategy.

“IS Group successfully acquired and integrated 11 companies, which lead to the valuable experience of doing this in the most effective way. WideXS is a great addition to this," said Jan Willem des Tombe.

Ronald Wissink, CEO of WideXS said that joining forces with IS Group is a major step forward in WideXS's ambition to optimally serve the company’s customers now and in the future.

Earlier this month, IS Group’s had announced acquisition of Amsterdam based hosting provider Nxs Internet.

Nxs Internet will relocate to the IS Group offices and will continue business under the IS Group brand name.

The acquisition of Nxs Internet directly contributes to the financial result of IS Group. The addition of Nxs to IS Group further strengthens the company's position in the public sector, media and e-commerce industries. IS Group will extend their IS HyperGrid Enterprise Cloud computing platform with Nxs's successful Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform.
