Jacobs Engineering to Acquire Federal Network Systems

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (JEC), one of the world's largest and most diverse providers of technical professional and construction services, is all set to acquire Federal Network Systems (FNS), a subsidiary of Verizon (News - Alert) Communications.

The terms of the agreement were not disclosed, and the closing of the transaction is subject to various conditions and is expected to occur in the summer of 2014.

Federal Network Systems LLC (FNS), specializes in bringing the experience and expertise of the world’s largest telecommunications and network services providers to the government environment. With commercial speed and best practices, FNS delivers reliability and comprehensive lifecycle support to the Intelligence Community (IC), DOD, and civilian government agencies. Because FNS is Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) compliant, government customers can be assured that delivered solutions meet required cost accounting standards.

FNS provides a comprehensive communications, IT, and security solutions package to satisfy customers’ “one-stop shopping” needs. FNS can evaluate, plan, design, build, integrate, operate, manage, and maintain.

The FNS portfolio includes- World class systems integration; Managed global networking solutions (secure voice, data and video);Secure mobile enterprise solutions; Advanced enterprise voice communications; Enterprise IT services and solutions; All-distance voice services; Convergent network solutions and Continuity of Operations (COOP).

Its workforce of more than 750 employees design, integrate, secure, operate and maintain highly complex mission critical voice, data and video networks.
