Pluribus Unveils Certified Cloud Controller Solution based on its Freedom Server-Switch

Pluribus Networks introduced a new certified cloud controller solution that is based on the Pluribus Freedom server-switch and the Red Hat (News - Alert) Enterprise Linux OpenStack platform controller.

Dave Ginsburg, CMO of Pluribus Networks said, “Together with Red Hat, we are delivering the ‘cloud-in-a-rack’ experience. With more than 150 companies supporting the mission of OpenStack today, enterprise users understand more than ever the value of open networking.”

A specialist in offering compute, network, storage, and virtualization solutions on a single platform, Pluribus has joined the Red Hat OpenStack cloud infrastructure partner network. This partner network forms an ecosystem for commercial OpenStack deployments.

The certified solution proves that the Pluribus Freedom product line is tested and certified for compatibility and performance with the Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack platform. The need for additional hardware and investments is avoided as the certified solution allows the Freedom server-switch to operate as a full ‘cloud controller.’

The cloud-in-a-rack solution can provide and manage servers, virtual machines, storage, and other switches optimally. In addition, the converged solution ensures application migration, resource management, application management, and simplification of IT management.

The Pluribus Freedom series server switch enables more OpenStack deployments as it leverages a single service platform. Also the fully validated Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack platform mitigates all forms of risk.

As a Red Hat cloud infrastructure partner network member, Pluribus can connect its business and technical resources to third-party technology companies that are also aligned with Red Hat’s OpenStack product offerings.

All solutions that have earned the OpenStack certification and the Red Hat open hybrid cloud portfolio certification will be available in the Red Hat Certified Solution Marketplace, said officials.

OneAsia, a cloud and data center services provider has embraced software-defined networking and deployed the Pluribus Networks F64 Server Switch in its Hong Kong and Shanghai data centers. OneAsia will use the Pluribus switch to support its OneDC virtual data center services through which customers can select from any computing, network and storage sources in its data center footprint and group them as a single data center.
