Mirantis, Parallels Partner on OpenStack Distribution

Mirantis and Parallels are looking for ways to make it easier for service providers to offer OpenStack infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS). Offering to customers via the Parallels Automation platform; the companies have partnered to integrate the Mirantis OpenStack distribution with Parallels Automation. This partnership will allow service providers using Parallels Automation to easily offer OpenStack IaaS services to their customers using the Mirantis OpenStack distribution.

Parallels Automation is a cloud platform available worldwide to service providers. The platform was designed to enable service providers to more easily deploy new cloud services while reducing operating cost and increasing the average revenue on a per user level.

Mirantis OpenStack will be integrated with Parallels Automation using the APS 2 standard that allows service providers to bring OpenStack-based IaaS services to market.

The Parallels Automation platform provides for seamless provisioning of these new services, as well as the consolidated billing with other offerings in the service provider's environment.

Mirantis delivers all the software, services, training and support needed for running OpenStack.

Boris Renski, executive vice president and co-founder of Mirantis said in statement, "As OpenStack gains momentum around the world with more and more service providers, Parallels is natural partner for Mirantis. Cloud operators will benefit in two key ways. Service providers will be able to provision and meter OpenStack infrastructure using Parallels Automation. And, by supporting Parallels Containers as an alternative technology, service providers will have more choice when it comes to container technology in OpenStack."

The Mirantis OpenStack integration with Parallels Automation offers service providers, telecommunication companies, hosting providers, managed service providers and other cloud operators a range of benefits. It provides immediate access to the fast-growing OpenStack market, a consistent end user experience and no OpenStack lock-in.

Mirantis OpenStack offers cloud-operators and cloud consumers alike a proven, working open source cloud environment free of opaque hooks or proprietary packaging.
