Igloo Software Announces Strategic Partnership with Swisscom

Igloo Software, a cloud intranet provider, has entered into a strategic partnership and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with Swisscom (News - Alert), one of Switzerland’s telecommunications providers, to private-label its social intranet solution.

Igloo’s cloud intranet platform is designed to enable complete control over the apps one uses and the information architecture of the intranet, which in turn affects the overall look and feel.

Swisscom will now have the non-exclusive right to host and distribute Igloo in Switzerland, Germany, and Italy. Through its state-of-the-art hosting facility in Switzerland and dedicated services team, customers have access to a wealth of locally-based product knowledge and technical support to suit their requirements.

“Managing information in the digital age can introduce tremendous costs and complexities for a business,” said Dieter Lüscher, senior product manager, cloud products & technology, Swisscom, in a statement.

Lüscher said that the company’s partnership with Igloo is a key ingredient in their cloud strategy.  The goal is to bring simple, scalable, and configurable solutions to the customers by removing the barriers presented by traditional IT systems.

“This is a significant milestone in the expansion of our OEM partner strategy, and we will continue to pursue strategic relationships with managed service providers that expand our reach into new verticals and geographies,” said Andrew Dixon, senior vice president, marketing & operations, Igloo Software.

Due to Swisscom’s cooperation, the company is now able to provide cloud intranet solutions to the customers in Europe, from a data center in Europe.

Swisscom has launched the cloud intranet solution under the trademark Dynamic Intranet.
