Verio Partners with IndependenceIT for Cloud Workspace

IndependenceIT, a provider of desktop-as-a-service software platform, recently signed a licensing agreement with Verio, a NTT (News - Alert) Communications Company and provider of online business solutions to SMBs worldwide.

As per the terms of this agreement, Verio will leverage IndependenceIT’s Cloud Workspace Suite to enable application and desktop-as-a-service on a subscription basis with monthly pricing via Verio’s IT service platform. The announcement was made at the Microsoft (News - Alert) Hosting Summit held recently.

“IndependenceIT’s Cloud Workspace provides a powerful and extensible Desktop-as-a-service platform for delivery of applications and full-featured desktop solutions,” Hideyuki Yamasawa, president and chief executive officer for Verio said in a statement.

“Cloud Workspace’s API will allow us to deliver strategic business solutions as a service, seamlessly integrated with our advanced management system and existing service portfolio,” Yamasawa added.

As a complete cloud-based application and desktop-as-a-service enablement and delivery solution, Cloud Workspace Suite allows organizations to support mobile, distributed workers, embrace B.Y.O.D. as a corporate strategy, and increase responsiveness and service quality, all without compromise to security, performance or control. The platform supports more than 600 business applications, enabled on-demand from within the interface.

Verio said it will integrate the solution’s management and provisioning engine into its service portfolio via Cloud Workspace’s powerful application programming interface (API), allowing for on-demand deployment of top business applications. Verio believes that this integration will allow it to manage service delivery through its existing management tools while integrating and automating desktop and application provisioning, deployment and support functions.

“We’re excited about our partnership with Verio and to serve as the foundation for service-enabled applications to support their growing customer base,” Seth Bostock, chief executive officer for IndependenceIT mentioned.
