Appcelerator has received a unique honor from Skyhigh Networks, the cloud access security company, by being among the first to be awarded the highest Skyhigh CloudTrust rating of Enterprise-ready for the Appcelerator Program. Cloud services that achieve the rank of Skyhigh Enterprise-ready are those that fully satisfy the most stringent requirements for data protection, identity verification, service security, business practices and legal protection.
The CloudTrust Program was introduced earlier this week with the goal of giving companies the confidence to embrace cloud services. Skyhigh identifies and classifies thousands of cloud services, while providing an objective and detailed evaluation of the enterprise readiness of each cloud service based on a detailed set of criteria that was developed in conjunction with the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA).
In particular, the evaluation covers five main categories: data attributes, user and device attributes, service attributes, business attributes and legal attributes.
"Selecting an enterprise-ready service like Appcelerator is critical, but performing product evaluations is expensive and time consuming, especially with the breadth of services available today," said Rajiv Gupta, founder and CEO of Skyhigh Networks, in a statement. "The Skyhigh CloudTrust Program streamlines the evaluation process by providing an objective and comprehensive evaluation of a service's security controls and enterprise readiness."
Appcelerator has already experienced a great deal of success. In fact, the company reported back in 2012 that 350,000 mobile app developers from 250 countries were using its mobile platform to build their apps. With its new Skyhigh Enterprise-Ready validation, Appcelerator can only go further.
Appcelerator and Skyhigh chose the ideal week to announce this cloud industry news as the Cloud4SMB Expo is currently ongoing through to the 31st in Miami, Florida. A collocated event of ITEXPO (News - Alert) Miami 2014, Cloud4SMB Expor is the first event of its kind to focus on the needs and challenges for SMBs seeking to leverage what cloud services have to offer.
