Solbox to Increase Performance of KT's Ucloud Caching Service

With the acceleration solutions from Solbox, Korean mobile ICT company KT (News - Alert) is hoping to increase the performance and speed of its Ucloud Caching service.

According to KT, Ucloud Caching is a cloud storage service designed to deliver a reliable, secure, flexible and scalable option to store multimedia contents, documents, and big data such as logs. Ucloud storage is based on Openstack object storage SW, an open source community and over this service, data can be accessed by portal, restful APIs and several third party tools. The Ucloud CDN service enables quick data download and streaming over geographically diverse areas.

Solbox’s Cloud Storage Acceleration, now built onto KT Ucloud Caching, should bring down the load put on storage nodes by supporting dynamic block-level caching between users on the cloud storage.

Taeha Park, chief executive officer at Solbox, said, “The release of the KT Ucloud Caching is a prime example showing that cloud storage values not only content basic function as a content repository but the speed and performance of its delivery. KT has chosen to combine with Solbox technology as a step to swiftly respond to the needs of this market and play a leading role within it. By incorporating Solbox’s cloud storage acceleration technology, we have achieved cost saving and stability of Ucloud Storage for its users.”

Solbox explained that its Cloud Storage Acceleration solutions can offer high-performance access to cloud storage and to manage the delivery of hot content between the client and servers and it is also loaded with advanced features like dynamic block-level caching for HTTP range, ideal collapsed forwarding, storage mount, and acceleration of content I/O.

Solbox added that the Cloud Storage Acceleration supports OpenStack Swift (News - Alert) and Amazon S3, standards within the public cloud service industry, and brings these advantages to KT Ucloud Caching.
