Engenius Debuts New Durafon-OHC Long Range Cordless Phone System

EnGenius Technologies (News - Alert) a provider of wired and wireless networking solutions unveiled a new stylish cordless phone system which will enhance premise mobility communications. The new DuraFon-OHC is a long range, scalable, industrial cordless phone system that can extend communications capabilities beyond the limits of the premises.

Alex Wei, product manager at EnGenius, said, “Our EnGenius DuraFon PRO and 1X systems have become the go-to business-class cordless communications systems for use in harsh, industrial environments due to a unique combination of extreme range and rugged design.”

This office-style cordless phone and two-way radio handset is compatible with the DuraFon PRO long-range multi-line expandable cordless phone system and DuraFon 1X single line system, said officials.

This device is most suitable for use in big properties like hotels and resorts, schools, retail locations, and administrative offices. As it can work with the DuraFon PRO and DuraFon 1X systems users will benefit from a signal range that goes beyond DECT (News - Alert) technology and Wi-Fi phones. This helps increase productivity and efficiencies while reducing operating costs.

The office-style DuraFon-OHC handset forms part of the company’s family of durable DuraFon handsets and DuraWalkies. The DuraFon system serves as a long-range communications solution for office and also harsh environments.

The wide range of the phone enables a signal range that can cover up to 12 floors in office settings or 250,000 square feet in retail environments. The speakerphone feature allows hands-free communications so that employees can multi-task.

The 2-way radio features a full-duplex, two-way communication intercom mode. The LCD display offers four-line illuminated information that can be read in bright as well as in low-light conditions. The caller ID feature lets users to screen calls and stay on task.

“The new handset brings style and DuraFon functionality to the desktop to enable businesses to take advantage of the range and reliability to enable users to move throughout and beyond the premises without having to worry about missing a call,” Wei added.

In August 2013, EnGenius Technologies launched a new family of Gigabit Power-over-Ethernet, or PoE, smart switches. The Ethernet switches include three 8-port Gigabit switches designed to support the company’s current and future lines of high-performance, long-range PoE-enabled wireless access points and bridges, including a new business class dual-band access point, and a soon-to-be-launched family of business-class IP cameras.
