NCR Signs Contract with Lukoil to Deploy POS Hardware, Software

NCR Corporation has announced the signing of a contract with Lukoil to deploy advanced point of sale (POS) hardware and software solutions at the latter’s petroleum outlets and convenience stores. Following the contract, NCR will deploy its flagship POS solutions at 170 gas station convenience stores across Belgium over the next few weeks. The contract is expected to be extended to include Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) locations of Lukoil, covering more than 400 facilities across six countries in the region.

In a release, Ronen Levkovich, VP of retail sales for the EMEA Region at NCR, said “Lukoil is leading the market as they grow their already extensive international service station business and provide an engaging customer experience. Extending the relationship with Lukoil into Belgium and across CEE, and providing our latest POS solutions, opens the door to more innovation.”

The development was part of Lukoil’s initiative to replace its conventional POS systems with advanced technology to enhance in-store efficiencies and also deliver an enhanced shopping experience for consumers. The POS solution offered by NCR provides the required agility as well as facilitating cross-functional promotions to offer loyalty rewards for customers visiting Lukoil petrol filling stations.

“Customers increasingly demand more from their visit to petrol stations and convenience stores, and assume that mobile and self-service alternatives will be available,” said Bulat Subaev, Managing Director for Central Europe and Benelux at Lukoil. “Our focus is to provide an outstanding customer experience when they visit our facilities, and run our business effectively and efficiently so we can grow. Our strategic relationship with NCR meant that we were able to quickly deploy an innovative, future-proof POS solution that provides outstanding value to our customers and the Lukoil business.”

NCR Corporation offers hardware, software and associated services to handle more than 450 million transactions on a daily basis across various sectors including retail, hospitality, telecom and travel.
