Opscode Deploys Opscode Enterprise Chef at Infochimps Facility

Opscode announced that the company has successfully deployed Opscode Enterprise Chef for Infochimps, allowing the latter to automate its Big Data services over the cloud. The Enterprise Chef solution enabled Infochimps to automate its application delivery and configuration management activities for Big Data platform, following which Infochimps moved into full-fledged production in just six hours.

Enterprise Chef was integrated with Infochimps’ Ironfan allowing Infochimps to configure applications and services in the client’s IT infrastructure whether virtual or physical servers, and public or private cloud networks. Following the development, Infochimps can deploy complete Big Data stacks in a few hours by leveraging Chef Cookbooks for automating resource configuration and Ironfan for automating resource deployment.
