StumbleUpon Selects RagingWire's Sacramento Data Center Campus

StumbleUpon (News - Alert), the easiest way to find new and interesting things from across the web, has selected RagingWire's Sacramento data center campus to increase reliability and scalability as StumbleUpon looks to expand its interests-based internet browsing platform. RagingWire's West coast data center in Sacramento, California encompasses 500,000 square feet of data center, with 38 megawatts of critical IT power, scalable to over 225 Watts per square foot power density.

"When we surveyed the data center marketplace, RagingWire was the only provider that met our selection criteria: 100 percent availability, customer service-focused operations, and infrastructure scalability," said Paul Hands, director of operations and infrastructure at StumbleUpon, in a statement. Hands said that StumbleUpon needed a data center that could handle the high density power requirements of new applications and technologies that the company would be building and deploying there. “Our migration to RagingWire has been smooth and the customer service is industry-leading," he said.

Doug Adams, senior vice president and chief revenue officer at RagingWire said that StumbleUpon is transforming the way people find and consume web content. "We are excited to provide the data center infrastructure and 100 percent availability on which StumbleUpon can continue to build their business and their success," said Adams.

Earlier in September, RagingWire Data Centers, one of the nation's premier data center providers, had announced that Enterprise Consciousness for Business Networks (ECFBN), a Virginia-based hosting and cloud solutions provider, has selected RagingWire as their primary data center colocation provider. ECFBN provides hosting, monitoring, and network services to small and medium sized businesses, allowing them to scale their IT systems as their business grows.

ECFBN's hosting and cloud infrastructure is installed in RagingWire's Ashburn data center, in the heart of Northern Virginia's "Data Center Alley." As part of its integrated colocation solution, ECFBN takes advantage of RagingWire's Colo Connect network service to provide direct fiber connectivity between ECFBN's IT systems at RagingWire and the company's additional data center deployments in the Ashburn area.

As ECFBN planned their data center migration in tandem with a hardware refresh, this connectivity was especially important as the company incrementally ramped its footprint into RagingWire while maintaining connectivity to its legacy systems. As part of the migration, ECFBN relied on RagingWire to design and implement the cabling system for their entire cage and extensive server deployment.
