Huawei Unveils One-Stop BYOD Mobile Office Solution

It seems that more mobile device manufacturers are recognizing the potential in the enterprise mobility space by the day. BlackBerry (News - Alert), for example, introduced a multi-platform, cloud-based enterprise mobility management (EMM) solution in support for BYOD initiative earlier this month. Likewise, Huawei (News - Alert), a global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider and handset manufacturer, has launched a one-stop BYOD mobile office solution.

Not your average mobile device management (MDM) offering, Huawei’s BYOD solution features one-stop services and products for enterprise network, security, device and management platforms. The goal is to facilitate fast, but comprehensive, mobile office deployment for enterprises.

Huawei decided to release this solution after recognizing the value of BYOD and enterprise mobility. In fact, the company believes that a holistic BYOD and enterprise mobility strategy can improve business and operational performance from within an enterprise, while also generating sustainable competitive advantages.

Huawei’s BYOD solution focuses primarily on three aspects of enterprise mobility: security, the wireless network and mobile applications.

In terms of security, the solution features an integrated mobile office platform for internal and external cross-platform security protection. This protection enables support on multiple authentication types, one-time configurations and unified distributions. Sand box technology, meanwhile, ensures zero data leakage by separating private and corporate data.

On the wireless network level, Huawei’s solution promises 100 percent network coverage with no blind zones thanks to refined planning and verification of the WLAN. It also offers a 20 percent increase in coverage area due to the sophisticated industrial design of its smart antenna. Likewise, the multi-user business throughput rate is 20 percent higher, while energy consumption is reduced by up to 20 percent, as well.

Finally, when it comes to mobile apps, Huawei’s BYOD solution provides a flexible, secure launching platform for applications, allowing single apps to be deployed across multiple platforms.
