GENBAND's Solutions Selected by iHub

GENBAND (News - Alert), a developer of multimedia and cloud communications solutions, recently announced that its mobile SMART OFFICE and SMART EDGE session security solutions have been selected by iHub, one of Britain’s hosted business communications suppliers. The solutions from GENBAND will be used with EXPERiUS Application Server and CONTiNUUM C20 Call Session Controller.

SMART OFFICE will allow iHub to unify and consolidate their voice and multimedia communications across fixed and mobile networks while empowering their employees to be more productive, more collaborative and communicate more efficiently and effectively. Moreover, the SMART EDGE solution secures the interfaces between the core and enterprise networks, as well as for providing innovative, integrated Unified Communications (News - Alert) services for businesses.

“GENBAND’s best-in-class application server and call session controller solutions have anchored our rapid growth in the UK business market, and these new additions to our portfolio will help drive iHub’s next phase of expansion,” said Mike Webb, CEO of iHub. “Today, business users are demanding advanced mobility features that allow them to work from the road as if they were in the office. GENBAND’s SMART OFFICE solution empowers iHub to meet and even exceed those expectations with a fully mobilized, simple-to-use UC offering that delivers a market-leading ‘any device, any network’ experience, including the ability to move calls between devices without missing a second of conversation.”

“This extension of our long-standing relationship demonstrates iHub’s commitment to mobile innovation while also marking a very strategic deployment of the Q20 SBC and QFlex Enterprise SBC in Europe,” said David Hiscock, GENBAND’s Senior Vice President of Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa. “We are pleased to support iHub by ensuring quality of experience and security for signaling and media traffic at the core and edges of its network.”

In related news, GENBAND announced it will be providing over-the-top (OTT) service to French operator Bouygues Telecom. Customers will be able to get "free" phone calls and SMS text messages on Wi-Fi while abroad. France is heating up in the OTT race, with the potential for RCS to become the next technology play in the market.
