Eltek's Flatpack2 Trilogy DC Power Systems Now Support Smartpack2 Controller

Eltek, a provider of power systems for telecommunications, industrial applications and renewable energy projects, has announced that its Flatpack2 Trilogy high efficiency DC power systems have been upgraded to support the Smartpack2 controller. This upgrade is designed to increased system management and power density to up to 600 ampere.

According to Eltek, the Flatpack2 Trilogy system is a compact and cost-effective DC power system designed to be mounted into racks, cabinets or enclosures. It aims to attain optimal energy saving with the original high efficiency Flatpack2 HE rectifier. As a more shallow system, it can optimize space by cabling vertically rather than horizontally, accommodating space restrictions.

The Smartpack controller was developed as a powerful and cost-effective module for monitoring and controlling a wide range of Eltek’s DC power supply systems. The new Smartpack2 controller is based on the same software platform, making it reliable and robust. The new modular distributed control system simplifies connections, and its updated program memory and new hardware allows for more features and improved user interface.

In addition, the Smartpack2 offers input flexibility through its six CAN-based programmable relay outputs for monitoring DC power systems and battery elements, as well as six digital/analog inputs for monitoring door alarms or other inputs.

David Leal, vice president of sales for Eltek North America, commented, “The telecom industry is often restricted by tight spaces for its applications, so the high efficiency and compact size of the Trilogy system with its smaller Smartpack2 controller, solves a critical problem. Plus, the Trilogy’s innovative hybrid design which integrates solar with standard power, makes this a green solution that saves money and helps the environment.”

Some of the notable features of Smartpack2 controller are: 3.2-inch graphical TFT high contrast, high resolution color display; LEDs for local visual alarms; Ethernet for remote or local monitoring and control via Web browser; Ethernet port with HP auto MDI (News - Alert)/MDI-X for detection and correction for straight-through and crossover cables; SNMP protocol with TRAP, SET and GET on Ethernet; backup of critical control features; and automatic battery monitoring and testing.

The Flatpack2 Trilogy DC power system with Smartpack2 controller is available now from Eltek’s worldwide sales force.
