CA Technologies Receives Gold Star in IT Management Software Megavendors Report

IT management solutions provider CA Technologies (News - Alert) was recently awarded with a gold star in an independent analysis of IT management software megavendors by Forrester Research, Inc.

The company was the only one to receive such an honor in the report entitled "Market Overview: The Four Megavendors In IT Management Software, Q3 2013."

As indicated by the report authors Courtney Bartlett and Jean-Pierre Garbani, certain qualities about CA Technologies stand out, including possessing the largest and broadcast portfolio within the ITMS market, having an effective acquisition strategy, efficiently being able to develop solutions to appeal to organizations that rely on IT for innovation, having a long-term strategy for cloud and mobility, and being the only megavendor with a clear strategy for small businesses.

Moreover, CA Technologies is described as a pillar of the IT management software field that has the power to "transcend the megavendor invocation stigma." CA Technologies' Chief Technology Officer John Michelsen said it is gratifying to be recognized for the work they do.

“We believe this report is not only a validation of our strategy and execution, but also additional empirical evidence that we are outperforming our competitors across multiple dimensions,” Michelsen said in a statement.

CA Technologies recently unveiled a new version of its CA Capacity Management solution, intended to better service organizations in terms of making sure they have the necessary resources to support a variety of applications, as well as helping reduce data center costs and risks.

Users of the updated solution will be able to perform what-if analyses for complete capacity modeling, calculate how applications will perform and how much they will cost in relation to hybrid cloud migration initiatives, reserve capacity for upcoming projects and application roll-outs, and obtain accurate predictions on application performance. They will also be able to achieve greater data center efficiency and higher resource utilization rates.
