Maclocks Unveils Universal Tablet Security Holder

Recent research from IDC (News - Alert) reveled that global shipments of tablet personal computers surged 75 percent in the final quarter of 2012 to a record 52.5 million units. The research firm anticipates that the shipments of tablet devices might surpass desktop PCs in 2013 and portable PCs in 2014.

Cashing in on this trend, manufacturers of accessories for smart devices have been launching new products that are not only appealing to look, but efficient too, to lure more customers. One among them is Maclocks, which recently launched the Universal Tablet Security Holder.

Maclocks is a designer and manufacturer of locking and display solutions for Apple's (News - Alert) line of iPad, MacBook air, MacBook Pro, Mac mini and iMac devices.

The new Maclocks Universal Tablet Holder is designed to provide hands-free viewing for tablet apps and features. It can hold any tablet with a 7-inch screen or more, such as all iPad models, Kindles, Samsung (News - Alert) Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Capable of accommodating tablets in protective cases, the new Universal Tablet Holder is made of high-grade aluminum and has a smooth black finish.

The new Universal Tablet Holder’s stand is angled at 45 degrees for optimal viewing with an open back to fit the security plate and cable. The stand has a balance stabilizer as well to keep all the cords in place.

Alexander Gad, general manager, Maclocks, said in a statement, "We recognized the overall growth of the tablet market, not just iPads, and responded with this product."

Gad added, "This stand is not just universal to the device but also in where it can be used! Whether you are interested in the security, the easy setup, the display or all three you can't go wrong. I envision this in classrooms, lobbies, lounges, offices or even on your coffee table."

Currently available for the introductory price of $59.95, the new stand includes both Maclocks universal tablet lock and Maclocks patented tablet stand.

The new Universal Tablet Holder comes with two adhesive options, namely 3M (News - Alert) VHB Bonding Tape or Super Glue, to place its plate. The tape option enables the user to remove the plate, whereas the Super Glue option is kind of permanent solution to keep the plate intact.
