Avaya Awarded 'Champion' Rating by Info-Tech Research Group

Avaya (News - Alert), a provider of business collaboration and communications solutions, recently received “Champion” ratings in the unified communications (UC) and video conferencing markets from Info-Tech Research Group, a research firm specializing in applications, infrastructure and strategy and leadership, in the 2013 Info-Tech Landscape report on IP telephony/unified communications for the Avaya Aura platform.

Avaya Aura simplifies complex communications networks, reduces infrastructure costs and quickly delivers voice, video, messaging, presence and Web applications to users in every location. The solution has SIP architecture with centralized management and control that gives businesses the agility to take advantage of new capabilities, deploy new applications and deliver new levels of customer service. Clients can use the corporate network to handle traffic and reduce PSTN usage with a single enterprise-wide dial plan and intelligent routing policies. The administrative costs are also reduced due to simpler management and infrastructure.

"Scopia video conferencing has a strong heritage of innovation, interoperability and affordability. Since Avaya's acquisition of Radvision (News - Alert), the integration occurring between these two companies can be seen in the progress that has been made on delivering a best-of-both-worlds approach to video conferencing," said James McCloskey, senior consulting analyst, Info-Tech Research Group

"Receiving Champion status in Info-Tech's UC and video conferencing reports reinforces the success of our strategy in enterprise collaboration -- to ensure productivity-enhancing communications reaches every employee via any device, wherever they are. We are at the beginning of an exciting evolution in unified communications, as interoperability accelerates, video conferencing becomes an easily accessible experience and mobile collaboration capabilities are seen as business-driving assets," said Gary E. Barnett, senior vice president and general manager, Avaya Collaboration.

Meanwhile, Tone Software (News - Alert), a provider of comprehensive voice quality and unified communications management software for converged voice and IT infrastructures, recently revealed its ReliaTel VoIP and UC management solution is compliant with key collaboration solutions from Avaya. The application is now compliance tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya Aura Communication Manager 6.2 using SNMP for alarm monitoring and System Administrator Terminal (SAT) for trunk group performance reporting.
