Data center and colocation services provider FORTRUST announced the completion of the first phase of a modular data center expansion to its Denver facility.
With this expansion, the company has added an additional 11.4MW of critical IT load at 2N in an incremental modular design methodology.
"With our evolution to Data Center 2.0 and the efficiencies that resulted, we were able to gain approximately 5.2 MW of additional IT load at 2N without expanding the physical facility. We can provide a highly dense, efficient and secure colocation environment for IT end-users, including small business, FORTUNE 500 and large capacity customers," Rob McClary, vice president at FORTRUST, said in a statement.
FORTRUST's new modular design is said to allow data modules to be introduced in a just-in-time and agile delivery method through its partnership with IO. This modular design includes IO.Anywhere data modules in order to provide "on-demand" delivery of data center space and capacity in a scalable modular platform with an energy efficient environment for its customers.
The IO.Anywhere data modules are purpose-built technology that provides customers a solution that can accommodate high power densities and an increased level of security for their IT environments. The modular technology allows for increased rack densities of 400-800 watts per square foot. The modules are also equipped with an intelligent control system via the IO.OS data center operating system, which allows customers insight of their environment with real time data and increased accessibility.
Completion of the first phase now allows FORTRUST to expand continuously within 60 days in response to increasing customer demand for data modules.
