ASSIA Releases Broadband Management and Optimization Product ASSIA DSL Expresse v3.3

ASSIA, a solutions company for broadband service providers, recently unveiled ASSIA DSL Expresse 3.3, a new version of its flagship broadband management and optimization product.

Dr. John Cioffi, CEO and chairman of ASSIA, said in a statement, “Increasingly, service providers are recognizing the economic and commercial benefits of leveraging investments in existing copper networks by deploying vectored VDSL.”

“As demand for high-bandwidth services, such as online video, continues to explode, ASSIA is committed to helping service providers and consumers benefit from vectored VDSL’s very high speeds. When combined with Expresse Solutions, ASSIA’s latest version of DSL Expresse can help accelerate vectoring deployments and deliver 100 Mbps broadband,” Cioffi added.

According to officials, the ASSIA DSL Expresse is a powerful platform for ASSIA Expresse Solutions, which serves all the major business needs of service providers. It facilitates the ongoing migration to 100 Mbps speeds with vectored VDSL.

DSL Expresse 3.3 features capabilities that can support an increase in number of service providers who are either planning or have already started upgrading to vectored VDSL networks. Vectoring technology developed by ASSIA experts and incorporated into ASSIA software optimizes the delivery of high-speed broadband services over copper lines to consumers cost effectively.

Besides providing high speeds, DSL Expresse 3.3 can help reduce time to market for vectored VDSL deployments at lower upgrade costs.

The use of Expresse Solutions with DSL Expresse 3.3 enables service providers to enhance customer experience for delivering new broadband services to consumers. As deploying fiber to the home (FTTH) is expensive and time consuming, many service providers prefer vectored VDSL delivered from a fiber-fed cabinet over copper lines.

The multitenancy capability of ASSIA lets multiple service providers to manage lines by sharing the same cabinet by leveraging an unbundled regulatory environment, added officials.

Service providers that select Expresse Solutions with DSL Expresse can effectively plan deployments, prepare the network, and manage vectored VDSL upgrades and also manage existing DSLs.

Recently, ASSIA announced its support for the proposal in Australia to use vectored DSL to bring 100 Mbps quickly to nearly all Australians. ASSIA experts invented vectoring about 10 years ago amid industry skepticism that the technology would ever achieve the high speeds promised. In the past two years, however, field trials and early deployments are delivering on that promise.
