6connect Upbeat about Q1 Performance

Silicon Valley-based 6Connect, reputed for its software-defined network control, is currently on a roll. With new customers purchasing the company’s Dynamic Network Provisioning (DNP) platform, ProVision, and a stellar Q1 performance, the company appears to have set the trend for the rest of what promises to be an exciting 2013.

6connect's ProVision has found favor with some large enterprises and service providers because of its intrinsic value. The DNP platform accelerates service delivery time, accurately provisions complex network protocols, and dramatically reduces network complexity and costs, while achieving industry change management and compliance requirements.

"We're thrilled at our first quarter results and what we expect will be a very exciting 2013 that will include further market expansion, development of new global enterprise sales, and rapid adoption of DNP for software-defined network control," noted Bill Bien, CEO at 6Connect.

A selection of new customers, which included EMC (News - Alert) Labs, Amazon, GoDaddy, iland, INetU and NetSumo, derived immediate financial value from 6Connect’s ProVision. EMC was impressed with ProVision’s automated network provisioning solution, robust API, unmatched IPV6 support and unique DNS control console.

Amazon and GoDaddy also purchased 6connect's peering automation module, which reportedly helped the companies lower transit cost, enhance customer experience and improve service introduction times.

iland (News - Alert) and INetU were expected to deploy ProVision to address challenges in virtualization by dynamically provisioning network resources that VMware virtual machines require across their data center footprints.

NetSumo, which manages the Internet infrastructure for it clients in U.K. and across Europe,  was the first distribution partner in that region that chose to deploy ProVision to automate network provisioning, increase time savings and profitability.

"We have good reason to be bullish about these results because of the value our customers gain from using ProVision. Our customers have told us that our DNP platform saves them 80 percent of the time they would normally spend on provisioning their network resources, creating a significant time-to-market advantage for them," noted an optimistic Bien.

The roadmap for 2013 is ambitious and includes further market expansion, development of new global enterprise sales and rapid adoption of DNP for software-defined network control.
